New Teaching Series: Tattooed Priests

In the ancient world, the priests of various cultures were tattooed to indicate that they had been set apart for a special purpose. These priests were the people whom the gods had chosen to help the rest of the world navigate the system of sacrifices and to bring the human world and the spiritual world together.

The Book of Leviticus is not normally a book of the Bible one spends much time reading. And yet, in the midst of New Year’s Resolutions, a world filled with sacrifices, and tattoos that tell the world what we believe, there’s a word for us.
