Janitorial and Facilities Maintenance Personnel
Job Description
Janitorial and Facilities Maintenance personnel are responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of Revolution facilities and for stocking related supplies, as outlined below.
Primary Responsibilities
The following tasks are expected to be performed twice per week, prior to Wednesdays at 6:00 pm and prior to Sundays at 8:00 am:
- Clean four bathrooms including sinks, counters, and toilets
- Empty trash in all public areas (everywhere but the offices)
- Clean surfaces of all tables and counters in the café
- Disinfect high-traffic surfaces such as doorknobs
- Pick up all trash from floors, tables, counters, etc. (especially under chairs in the sanctuary)
The following tasks are expected to be performed weekly, prior to Sundays at 8:00 am (done either Friday or Saturday):
- Vacuum all floors
- Spot‐clean any spills as needed
- Spot‐clean all glass surfaces (windows, doors, tables) to remove visible dirt or fingerprints
- Empty trash in offices
- Replace light bulbs as needed
- Stock supplies, including:
- paper towels (kitchen and bathrooms)
- toilet paper (bathrooms)
- facial tissue (sanctuary, prayer station, lobby)
- soap (kitchen and bathrooms)
- hand sanitizer (lobby, sanctuary, kitchen)
- Ensure proper maintenance and organization of all janitorial equipment and storage spaces
- Notify staff of equipment and supply needs in a timely fashion
The following tasks are expected to be performed monthly:
- Mop café, bathrooms, and warehouse lounge floors
- Sweep or vacuum warehouse floor
- Dust, including offices, staircase ledge, info desk, lobby end tables, and prayer room
The following tasks are expected to be performed annually (usually in the Fall):
- Deep clean carpets
- Strip and wax café, bathrooms, and warehouse lounge floors (if needed)
The following tasks are not included in this job description but are also not excluded. If the total expected hourly commitment is not needed for all of the above tasks, the remainder of the time can be spent on these tasks or on special cleaning, maintenance, or organizational projects as directed:
- Moving of chairs or other furniture
- Maintenance and repair of facilities or equipment, except as listed above
- Any items not listed above that have been delegated to the Trustees
Hours and Compensation
This is a part‐time salaried position, paying $5376 per year. Payments are made by direct deposit on or prior to the 15th and 30th of each month. It is expected that the person in this position work 6‐7 hours per week, divided between 2 days, with an extra 20‐25 hours per year expected for annual tasks and/or special projects. Up to 2 weeks (4 shifts) of time-off will be paid per year during non-peak seasons.
